I’m Paul Conklin, owner of Paul’s Guide Service and a licensed professional fly fishing guide. I’ve fished the Salmon River and its tributaries for 40 years and guided here since 2000. My focus is fly fishing and spey for salmon, steelhead, and trout, and there’s nowhere I’d rather share it than the rivers of Upstate New York.
Book a trip with me for hands-on instruction. We’ll cover reading water, fly selection, casting, and rigging. New anglers learn to fish independently, while seasoned ones refine their skills. My focus is entirely on you.
I’ve served as an instructor at the Orvis Spey Casting School in Quebec, bringing technical instruction to every trip. Spey and trout Spey are key parts of my teaching, whether swinging for steelhead or using a two-handed rod for the first time.
