Swinging Into The New Year

By |December 27th, 2019|Categories: Uncategorized|Tags: , , , , , , , , |

As we come to a close of 2019 looking back it has been a great year.  Maybe not in fish numbers, but in fishing experiences.  More and more clients are enjoying swinging flies with two hander's each season and are working hard on their casting and skills to fish thru a run move effectively.  And they are just enjoying being out there unplugged from work and devices. Enjoying time on the water with friends, just taking it all in, as we all know, life is too short not to live everyday to its fullest. Don't forget our Winter Special with the Douglaston Salmon Run now til March 31.                                                                     To book a trip or to discuss a trip click here.   Interested in casting a Echo Full Spey  7130 or Compact Spey 7012, contact me  and we can meet up on the Salmon River.

The 2018/2019 Salmon River season is a wrap and what a great season it was. I want to thank everyone who booked with me this season. I know I converted more clients over to swinging flies this year and looking forward to teaching more clients the swing game was strong this year. If you haven't booked your dates for the fall, don't wait any longer.  I have only 2 days left for the Salmon Run and only a couple of days open thru mid December.

Fishing Report – Upcoming News

By |December 13th, 2018|Categories: Uncategorized|Tags: , , , , , , , , |

Steelhead fishing on the Salmon River has been very good this fall, good numbers of fish and multi year classes from 4lb fish to fish in the mid teens.  Some of the fish up river are starting to settle into winter holding water, but lower in the river there are plenty of fish moving up river in transitional holding water.   I will be teaming up with the Douglaston Salmon Run  running another "Winter Special", look for that coming out soon.  You can e-mail me for details now if you want to get in on it sooner. Echo Flyfishing is coming out with some new spey rods for 2019 check them out at Echo Flyfishing.  I'm looking forward to adding a few of these to my arsenal for 2019.

Steelhead are here now!  The lower end of the Salmon River is fishing really well for steelhead as they migrate up the river to feed on salmon eggs.  Seems this years run is bigger and kicking butt!

The Fat Lady Is Almost Singing

By |October 12th, 2018|Categories: Uncategorized|

The 2018 Salmon Season in the Douglaston Salmon Run is starting to wind down on the lower end of the river.  It's been a good run overall with a few good runs and a steady trickle everyday making everyone happy.  Recent rains will help provide some cover for the steelhead entering the river and flush out some of the leaves that have started to drop already setting up some great fishing.  My November is booked solid and early December is getting there, so If you want to get in on some great steelhead fishing in mid December when the crowds start to disappear contact me about a trip now before it's too late.
