Salmon River Fishing Report
Fishing the lower Salmon River was slow today. Most of the fish movement happened during the first hour of daylight, then things quickly died off as the morning progressed.
Joe and his crew were able to get a few fish in the hoop early before deciding to call it a day and make the drive home. It was a short morning, but they made the most of the early bite.
The river remains low, which has been making fish movement somewhat inconsistent. There are salmon in the system, but the best opportunity continues to be during the low-light hours, when fresh fish are most likely to move, and in the deeper pools.
The next few days look encouraging, with cooler temperatures expected, daytime highs in the low-to-mid 60s, overnight lows in the 40s and 50s, and a chance of showers. The combination of cooler weather and potential rain could help keep fresh salmon moving and improve conditions on the lower Salmon River.
